Why tuning matters here
Malaysia's humidity pulls your piano out of tune.
A piano holds over 200 strings, each under roughly 90 kg of tension. Those strings never stop stretching — so even an unplayed piano slowly falls out of tune. In Malaysia's tropical humidity the soundboard also swells and shrinks with the weather, quietly shifting pitch and dulling the tone you paid for.
Regular tuning keeps it at concert pitch, protects its long-term value, and keeps every note honest — whether it's a family upright or a stage grand.
Fetching live humidity…
Strings never stop stretching
Each string holds around 90 kg of tension. Even an unplayed piano slowly drifts out of tune as they stretch.
Keeps concert pitch
Tuned to A440 so it plays in tune with other instruments, recordings and singers.
Catches problems early
Regular tuning is also a health check — spotting sticky keys, buzzes and wear before they turn costly.
What's included

How often
At least once a year
A piano needs tuning once a year minimum to hold its pitch — even if unplayed. In Malaysia's humidity, twice a year is ideal, and a brand-new piano should be tuned twice in its first year as the strings settle.
How long
About 1 to 1.5 hours
A standard tuning takes roughly an hour to ninety minutes. Badly out-of-tune or long-neglected pianos may need a pitch raise and up to two hours or a follow-up visit.
After a move
Tune 2–4 weeks after moving
Moving changes a piano's environment and unsettles it. Let it acclimatise in the new room for two to four weeks, then tune so it settles to the new humidity and temperature.

Frequently asked
Piano tuning questions, answered.
A piano should be tuned at least once a year — even if it is never played. Each of a piano's strings is held at around 90 kg of tension, and over time they slowly stretch and the pitch drifts. In Malaysia's humidity that drift is faster, so twice a year is the ideal. A brand-new piano needs two tunings in its first year, because fresh strings stretch the most.
Ask this on WhatsApp →A standard tuning takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. If a piano has been neglected, is badly out of tune, or needs a pitch raise back to concert pitch (A440), it can take up to 2 hours or a second visit to hold stable.
Ask this on WhatsApp →"Tuning" covers three jobs. Regulation fine-tunes the keyboard and action so the touch is even. Tuning itself corrects the pitch of every note by adjusting the tuning pins with a tuning hammer. Voicing balances the tone and volume by conditioning the hammer felts. We also check for sticky keys, buzzes and other issues while we work.
Ask this on WhatsApp →Always tune after a move. Relocation changes the piano's humidity and temperature and unsettles the strings and soundboard. Let it acclimatise in its new room for 2 to 4 weeks, then tune it so it settles properly to the new environment.
