Key purchase terms

Company registration number: 200401027750
Website: MusicWorld.com.my

“You” and “your” refer to anyone accessing the Website, creating an account, placing an order or booking a service.
2. Acceptance and application
By accessing the Website, creating an account, placing an order or booking a service, you agree to these Terms and our applicable:
- Return and Refund Policy
- Shipping and Delivery Policy
- Privacy Policy
- Cookie Policy
- Warranty Policy
- Price Match Policy
- Additional promotion or service terms disclosed before purchase
These Terms apply to individual customers, businesses, schools, music institutions and other organisations unless different terms are agreed with us in writing.
Statutory consumer protections apply where the purchaser qualifies as a consumer under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits a right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to place an order or create an account.
If you are under 18, you may use the Website only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
If you place an order on behalf of a business, school or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation.
4. Accounts and security
You agree to provide accurate and current information and take reasonable steps to keep your login details secure.
Please notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. You are not responsible for unauthorised activity caused by our failure to maintain reasonable security.
We may restrict or suspend an account where reasonably necessary because of suspected fraud, illegal activity, security concerns, misuse or a material breach of these Terms.
5. Product information
We take reasonable care to ensure product descriptions, photographs, specifications, prices and availability are accurate. However:
- Colours and appearance may vary slightly because of lighting, screen settings, manufacturing processes or natural materials such as wood.
- Manufacturers may change packaging or minor specifications without notice.
- Accessories shown in photographs are not included unless stated in the product description.
- Availability may change before an order is accepted.
- Display, clearance, pre-owned or open-box products may have disclosed cosmetic imperfections.
- Measurements and weights may be approximate.
Please check dimensions, voltage, plug type, connections, compatibility and other important specifications before ordering. Contact us if you need assistance selecting a product.
Nothing in this section limits your legal rights where a product is defective, unsafe, materially different from its description or otherwise fails to comply with applicable consumer guarantees.
6. Prices and payment
Prices are displayed in Malaysian Ringgit unless another currency is selected or stated. Applicable taxes, delivery charges and other known charges will be displayed before you confirm your order.
For international orders, customs duties, import taxes, brokerage charges and local government fees may be payable separately by the recipient unless expressly included at checkout.
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered at checkout. You confirm that you are authorised to use your selected payment method.
We may change prices before an order is placed. A price change will not affect an order already accepted.
If a listing contains an obvious pricing or product-information error, we may contact you to confirm the correct information or cancel the affected item. If we cancel a paid item, we will refund the amount paid using the original payment method.
7. Orders and acceptance
Placing an order is an offer to purchase the selected products.
An automatic acknowledgement means that we received your order. A contract is formed when we confirm that the order has been accepted for fulfilment or dispatch.
We may reject or cancel an order for reasonable grounds, including:
- The product is unavailable.
- Payment cannot be authorised.
- Order information is materially incomplete or incorrect.
- We reasonably suspect fraud, unauthorised activity or illegal use.
- A material pricing or listing error has occurred.
- Delivery to the requested location is unavailable or prohibited.
- An applicable quantity restriction has been exceeded.
If we cancel an order after receiving payment, we will refund the affected amount unless the payment must reasonably be held or reported because of suspected fraud or a legal requirement.
8. Fifteen-minute cancellation
All orders may be cancelled within 15 minutes after they are placed, including special and custom orders.
Cancellation should be completed through our self-service cancellation facility or another cancellation method made available with the order.
After the 15-minute period, cancellation is no longer guaranteed. Please contact us promptly, and we will try to assist where processing, special ordering, personalisation or dispatch has not started.
Approved refunds will be initiated through the original payment method within 10 to 15 business days. Additional processing time imposed by a bank or payment provider may apply.
9. Shipping, delivery and collection
We provide shipping within Malaysia and to supported international destinations. Availability, charges and estimated delivery times are shown at checkout or confirmed before payment.
International customers are responsible for ensuring that products may lawfully be imported into the destination country. We are not responsible for delays caused by customs inspections or the customer’s failure to pay applicable import charges.
Delivery dates are estimates unless we expressly confirm a guaranteed date in writing. Delivery may be affected by courier disruption, severe weather, natural disasters, customs procedures, government action or another event reasonably outside our control.
We will take reasonable steps to minimise material delays and notify you when appropriate.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. Reasonable additional costs caused by an incorrect address, refused delivery or unclaimed parcel may be charged to you, except where the problem was caused by us or our delivery provider.
Risk of loss or damage passes to you when the order is successfully delivered to the supplied address or collected by you or your authorised representative.
Where in-store collection is available, we will notify you when the order is ready. Identification or proof of purchase may be required.
10. Incorrect or defective products
We do not accept returns because a customer has changed their mind.
A return request may be made where a product delivered or collected is:
- Incorrectly supplied
- Defective
- Damaged upon delivery
- Incomplete
- Materially different from its description or the order
You must initiate the return request within seven days beginning on the delivery date. For an order collected in store, the seven-day period begins on the collection date.
Contact us with your order number, a description of the problem and photographs or video where reasonably requested. We may inspect or test the product before confirming the appropriate remedy.
Please return the product with its original packaging, included accessories, manuals, warranty materials and free gifts where reasonably possible. Missing or opened packaging will not by itself remove a statutory remedy where opening or inspection was reasonably necessary to discover the problem.
For a verified incorrect, damaged or defective item, we will bear reasonable return or redelivery costs as required by applicable law.
Depending on the circumstances, product availability and applicable law, the remedy may include repair, replacement or refund.
Approved refunds will be initiated through the original payment method within 10 to 15 business days. A bank or payment provider may require additional time to credit the funds.
The seven-day return procedure does not remove rights arising under an applicable warranty or consumer law where a defect becomes apparent later.
11. Non-returnable products
Because we do not provide change-of-mind returns, products cannot be returned merely because they are unwanted, unsuitable or no longer required.
This includes, without limitation:
- Opened earphones or headphones
- Reeds
- Mouthpieces and other hygiene-sensitive products
- Activated software or licence codes
- Downloadable or digital products
- Clearance products
- Personalised products
- Special or custom orders
This section does not prevent a remedy required by law where a product is defective, damaged, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or materially different from its description.
12. Product warranties
Unless a different warranty period is stated on the product page, invoice or warranty document, products normally include a one-year warranty beginning on the delivery or collection date.
Product warranties are provided and handled by the applicable manufacturer or authorised distributor. Warranty claims may require proof of purchase, the product’s serial number and inspection by the manufacturer or distributor.
We will provide reasonable assistance in submitting an eligible warranty claim. The final warranty assessment and remedy may be determined by the manufacturer or distributor according to its warranty conditions and applicable law.
A warranty may not cover:
- Accidental or liquid damage
- Misuse, neglect or improper storage
- Normal wear and tear
- Consumable parts
- Unauthorised repair or modification
- Failure to follow operating or maintenance instructions
- Damage caused by unsuitable voltage, power supply or accessories
A manufacturer’s or distributor’s warranty is additional to, and does not replace, consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Piano servicing and repairs
Piano servicing, repairs, installation and other technical services may be subject to a quotation or work order.
A deposit is required before the relevant booking, parts order or repair begins. The amount, how it is applied to the final invoice, and whether it is refundable following cancellation will be disclosed before the deposit is paid.
An estimate may be based on the information and condition reasonably observable during the initial inspection. If additional faults, parts or work are discovered, we will obtain your approval before performing material additional work or imposing additional charges.
You must disclose known faults and provide reasonable access and a safe working environment for services performed at your location.
Completed repair work carries a three-month service warranty beginning on the completion or collection date. This service warranty covers the workmanship performed and recurrence of the same repaired fault.
The service warranty does not cover:
- A new or unrelated fault
- Normal wear and tear
- Misuse, accidental damage or unsuitable environmental conditions
- Work subsequently performed by another repairer
- A failure involving a part or issue outside the original repair scope
Replacement parts may carry a separate manufacturer’s or distributor’s warranty.
Nothing in this section limits a remedy that cannot legally be excluded.
14. Price Match requests
A Price Match request must include a clear screenshot of the lower advertised price offered by a recognised supplier or competitor.
The screenshot must allow us to verify:
- The seller
- The date or current availability
- The exact brand and model
- The advertised price
- Any relevant delivery charges, conditions or included accessories
The competing product must be genuine, new, in stock and materially identical to our product. Price matching is subject to verification and approval before purchase.
We may decline a request where the offer cannot be verified, has expired, concerns a different product or condition, results from an obvious error, or is subject to materially different purchase conditions.
15. Promotions, vouchers and store credit
Promotions, vouchers and store credit are subject to their stated validity period, eligibility conditions and exclusions.
Unless otherwise stated:
- Promotions cannot be combined.
- Vouchers and store credit cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Discounts cannot be applied retrospectively.
- Refunds will take account of the amount actually paid after discounts.
We may correct or withdraw a promotion affected by an obvious error, fraud or misuse.
16. Acceptable use
You must not use the Website:
- For unlawful, fraudulent or abusive purposes.
- To transmit malware or interfere with Website security or operation.
- To obtain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or personal information.
- To scrape or commercially exploit Website content without permission.
- To submit materially false information or impersonate another person.
- To infringe intellectual property, privacy or other legal rights.
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect customers, our business or the Website.
17. Intellectual property
The Website and its original content, including text, graphics, photographs, branding, videos and layout, are owned by or licensed to Music World and protected under applicable intellectual property laws.
Product names, logos and trademarks belonging to manufacturers or other parties remain the property of their respective owners.
You may use the Website for personal shopping and other lawful purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit our content or branding without written permission.
18. Third-party services and links
Our Website is hosted by Shopify and may use third-party payment, delivery, communication and application providers. Their additional terms and privacy practices may apply.
Third-party links are provided for convenience. We do not control their independent content or security. Nothing in this section reduces any responsibility we have under law for providers acting on our behalf.
19. Website availability
We aim to keep the Website available, accurate and secure, but uninterrupted or completely error-free access cannot be guaranteed.
We may temporarily restrict or change parts of the Website for maintenance, security or operational reasons.
Any “as available” qualification applies only to Website operation. It does not mean products are sold “as is” and does not exclude applicable product guarantees.
20. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:
- Fraud or wilful misconduct
- Consumer guarantees or remedies that cannot be excluded
- Death or personal injury where liability cannot legally be excluded
- Any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited
Subject to the above and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the relevant order was accepted.
Where liability may legally be limited, our total liability relating to a particular order will not exceed the amount paid for the affected product or service. This limitation does not apply where it would be unlawful or unfair.
You are responsible for following applicable safety warnings, operating instructions and maintenance requirements. Unauthorised modification or repair may affect warranty coverage where permitted by law.
21. Personal information
Our collection, use, disclosure, retention and protection of personal information are explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
Personal information may be processed by Shopify and other providers assisting with payments, delivery, customer service, fraud prevention, analytics and Website operations, as described in our Privacy Policy.
22. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our services, practices or legal obligations. Updated Terms will be published with a revised effective date.
Changes apply prospectively and will not alter an order or service booking already accepted unless required by law or expressly agreed with you.
23. Governing law and international orders
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
For international customers, this choice of law does not exclude mandatory consumer rights that apply under the laws of the customer’s country and cannot legally be waived.
Please contact us first so that we can try to resolve any concern fairly. Nothing in these Terms prevents an eligible Malaysian consumer from bringing a claim before the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia or using another available remedy.
Subject to applicable mandatory rights, disputes shall be dealt with by the courts of Malaysia.
24. Severability and waiver
If part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
A delay or failure to enforce a right does not waive that right.
