With the curved headjoint the distance to the keys is shortened and the weight of the flute moves closer to the body. This makes the flute feels lighter and it requires less of a stretch for the arms to reach the keys.
This headjoint is especially suitable for all Yamaha 200-series flutes (usually the YFL-212).
