The ProMark Performer Series "R" (Rattan) mallet series (PSX10R–PSX80R) is a lineup of mallet instruments designed for percussionists, featuring rattan handles for flexibility and comfort. The main differences between these models lie in their head hardness, material, size, and intended use, ranging from soft rubber to hard plastic/phenolic, suitable for xylophone, vibraphone, and bells. 

Here is the breakdown of the differences:

PSX10R (Soft Rubber): Features a 1 1/8" soft rubber head, designed for delicate, soft xylophone passages, upper marimba, and vibraphone.

PSX20R (Medium Rubber): Features a medium-hard rubber head.

PSX30R (Hard Rubber/Poly): Hard rubber/poly head for a more articulate sound.

PSX40R (Soft Plastic/Poly): Features a soft plastic or hard rubber head (often 1 1/4" or similar) for a warmer, articulate sound on xylophone/bells.

PSX41R (Extra Soft/Soft - similar to 40R): Often described as a slightly different density or size compared to the 40R, designed for a warmer, less harsh attack than the 50R-80R series.

PSX50R (Medium-Soft Plastic): Features a 1 1/4" Teflon or phenolic head on a rattan shaft, offering a "darker" sound compared to harder, brighter plastic models.

PSX60R (Medium-Hard Plastic/Phenolic): A versatile, medium-hard mallet for general, bright projection.

PSX80R (Hard/Extra-Hard Plastic/Phenolic): The hardest in the series, offering maximum articulation and high-frequency projection for bells.

PSX11R / PSX12R: These are generally specialized variations within the "soft" to "medium" rubber range for specific voicing in mallet percussion.
