No one wants to buy a bass just to find out that the pickups or preamp just arn't up to scratch which is why pretty much across all of their active basses you have Ibanez's own top grade preamps. With a 3 band EQ you can easily cover most styles but what makes this bass different to a lot of the others is how this works with the new PowerSpan pickups.These open poled humbuckers have three different setting integrated in to the preamp. First of all you have the standard humbucking mode with no changes to the pickup. The next position cuts off one of the sets of poles giving you an authentic single coil sound. Finally the third option is a single coil setting but with an enhanced low end for when you need to rumble some seats.
