Young At Heart – It’s Never Too Late to Find Your Groove

The Young At Heart category celebrates drumming enthusiasts aged 55 and above who love rhythm, music, and the joy of playing. This category is all about having fun, sharing your passion for music, and proving that great grooves only get better with time.

Groove has no age limit.

Grand Finals

Finalists from all preliminary rounds will compete live for the championship titles.

Competition Phase

Preliminary Rounds

  1. Participants must prepare 1 song.
  2. Song must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the preliminary round.
  3. File format: WAV only.
  4. Drumless tracks are encouraged.
  5. Maximum duration: 5 minutes.
  6. Streaming platforms and Bluetooth playback are not allowed.
  7. Performances will be video recorded for judging.
  8. Judges will select finalists based on recorded performances.

Grand Finals

  1. Participants must prepare 1 main song.
  2. One additional song is encouraged in case of a tie.
  3. Songs must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the Finals.
  4. Roland SPD-SX will be provided upon request.
  5. Winners will be announced on the same day.

Rules & Regulations (Key Terms)

  1. Categories:
    • U10 – 10 years old and below
    • U15 – 15 years old and below
    • Open – All ages
    • Young At Heart – 55 years old and above
    Age is determined based on the year 2026.
  2. Open to Malaysian citizens and expatriates residing in Malaysia at the time of registration.
  3. Participants will receive a VDC2026 T-Shirt, Alpha Drumworks drumsticks, and certificate of participation during preliminaries.
  4. Participants may only compete on behalf of themselves.
  5. Registration must be completed online by 15 March 2026. Late submissions will not be entertained.
  6. Participants consent to the use of their images, videos, and audio recordings for promotional purposes.
  7. All participants must use Roland V-Drums provided by the Organizer.
  8. Drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes are strictly prohibited.
  9. Judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entertained.
  10. All official rules, updates, and final decisions are governed by the Organizer and RAP Distribution Sdn. Bhd.
