UOW Technicolour Multicultural Festival - Penang's Biggest Multicultural Event

 

The UOW Technicolour Multicultural Festival 2024, held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the UOW Malaysia University College Batu Kawan Campus, was one of Penang's most vibrant cultural events.

With the theme of Raising Funds for the Underprivileged in Penang, in partnership with the Social Welfare Department of Penang, the event attracted thousands of people for a full day of multicultural performances, fun fairs, traditional food and community building. 

 

Contests & Cultural Events

Malaysian ethnic dances, jazz ensembles, and traditional symphonic performances were among the festival's multicultural offerings. On stage, audiences took part in a variety of competitions, such as: 

  • Both solo and duet vocals 

  • Performances by the choir and ensemble 

  • Plays and poetry Creative arts and illustration contests 

Because of these highlights, the UOW Technicolour Multicultural Festival in Penang was a true display of Malaysia's cultural diversity.

The festival's family-friendly entertainment in Penang, which featured exhilarating funfair rides and traditional games for children, was enjoyed by both adults and children. 


Food and creatives market 

The following was one of the primary attractions at the Penang food fair: 

  • Over 50 local and international food vendors 

  • More than 20 food trucks attended the event. 

  • Over 30 creative booths featuring artisan crafts and regional specialities 

Visitors indulged in genuine multicultural treats, Malaysian street food, and handcrafted crafts during the festival, which was a true Penang culinary and cultural occasion.

The 2024 UOW Technicolour Multicultural Festival in Malaysia was more than just an occasion; it was a celebration of heritage, culture, and unity.

By uniting people through shared traditions, music, and storytelling, it enhanced Penang's reputation as the hub of Malaysia's cultural diversity.
