This clarinet starts with premium grade grenadilla wood, properly aged in controlled settings. It is within the the Backun facility in Vancouver, Canada that the wood is turned, bored and machined to exacting tolerances using the most advanced machinery and skilled personnel. These bodies, bells and barrels then undergo careful hand-finishing work and inspection by Backun technicians.

The finished wood bodies then travel to Antigua's state of the art facility where precision manufacturing is used to produce the keys. Skilled artisans hand fit posts, rings, rods, springs and keys to ensure that each instrument performs optimally. Black Valentino pads are used to create a perfect seal.
