The Elixir 16540 is a Super Light set of electric guitar strings (.009-.042) from Elixir’s Nanoweb collection. They use nickel-plated steel wrap wire around a hex core, plus plain steel strings inside that are treated to resist rust. The standout is their ultra-thin Nanoweb coating, which covers not just the outer surface of the winding but also the spaces between the windings. This coating helps protect the strings from sweat, grime, and oxidation, so the strings stay sounding bright and new for longer.
